Description
Pinguicula "Desiree" is a hybrid of P. cyclosecta and P. moctezumae. This hybrid was created by Rodrigo Patron in 2016 and was named after his lovey wife. Rodrigo crossed a cyclosecta that was circulating in México at the time and a P. moctezumae with huge flowers from the UNAM botanical garden. This cross produced this beautiful butterwort with long dark veiny leaves and an exquisite vibrant violet flower with a yellow throat. This butterwort is, without a doubt, a masterpiece. Rodrigo did an excellent job in selecting this hybrid, and I'm sure that many collectors will enjoy this Ping as much as we do.
