Description

Drosera alba is a beautiful South African sundew known for its vibrant red coloration, despite its name meaning “white.” The name likely refers to its delicate white flowers, which appear on slender stalks in spring.

This medium-sized species forms a compact rosette, starting with low, elongated leaves and maturing into elegant, upright strap-like leaves reaching up to 5 cm tall. One or two soft pink to white blooms are produced per flower stalk. Drosera alba spreads naturally through underground stolons and follows a seasonal growth cycle—actively growing during winter and retreating to dormant roots through the heat of summer—making it a fascinating and rewarding addition to any carnivorous plant collection.

Please read: You'll get 1 potted plant that is just emerging from dormancy, so it will be small. Please keep that in mind when ordering.

Water Start adding water in colder months (around September) and keep it sitting in water until it gets brown then reduce water and let it dry. Add small amounts of water during summer and repeat the process. Use distilled, R/O, or rain water only.
Sun This plant likes a lot of sun, so try to give it as much as possible.
Dormancy Dormancy gets trigger by warmer months, this is usually in spring and plant comes back around fall, so do NOT throw your plant away, it is just in dormancy.

Temperature Temperatures above 78° can trigger dormancy, keep them cool with lots of light.
