About Drosera (Sundews)
Drosera are one of the most diverse and fascinating groups of carnivorous plants, known for their glistening, sticky β€œdew” that traps insects. Many species are easy to grow and thrive indoors or outdoors with proper care. 🌿✨

Note: This is a general care guide. Some species have specific requirementsβ€”please refer to the individual product page for detailed instructions.

Lighting
Provide bright light to full sun for best growth and dew production.

  • Full sun outdoors or a bright sunny window
  • Indoors, use full spectrum lights (some plants need indirect or soft light, see individual page product for more info)
  • Provide 9–16 hours of light, depending on the species

Strong lighting encourages vibrant color and heavy dew formation.

Soil / Media
Use a nutrient-poor, well-draining mix:

  • Peat moss and perlite
  • Peat and sand mix
  • Or long-fiber sphagnum moss

Avoid any soil with fertilizers or added minerals, as these can harm the plant.

Watering
Drosera prefer consistently wet conditions.

  • Keep plants sitting in a tray with at least 1 inch of water
  • Use only low-mineral water (rain, distilled, or reverse osmosis)
  • Never allow the soil to dry out

Humidity
Thrives in 50–90% humidity, though many species adapt well to typical indoor conditions.

Temperature
Most Drosera grow well between 55–90Β°F, though exact preferences vary by species.

Feeding
Feed every 2–3 weeks with:

  • Small insects
  • Dried bloodworms
  • Finely crushed fish food

Fertilizer is not required and should only be used by experienced growers.

Dormancy
Dormancy requirements vary by species.

  • Some species grow year-round
  • Others require a cool winter dormancy

πŸ‘‰ Always refer to the individual product page for species-specific care.
