Plant Care

Butterworts (Pinguicula)

Light: thrive in partial sun. (Sunny windowsills, T5 or LED lights work well too)
Soil 60% peat moss, 20% vermiculite, and 20 % perlite. Make sure your soil is moist before potting. (Do not use miracle gro with Butterworts)
Feeding: Feed bugs, dried bloodworms, or fish food every 2-3 weeks, only use fertilizer if you have plenty of experience growing carnivorous plants

Water: During its active growing season provide enough distilled water for the media to remain moist, but not too wet. During winter dormancy, reduce watering and allow media to dry out regularly. You can use the tray method to water your plants (bottom watering) and avoid watering the plant’s crown.
Temperature: 55-80
Dormancy: None but reduce watering and photo-period to encourage winter succulent state.

Pot: Please make sure that your pot has proper drainage.
